Cultural performance in Ubud
There will be many ceremonies and temple festivals (odalan) in the district of Ubud area month after month. If you want to visit some of them, you should wear traditional Balinese ceremony clothing.

The ceremony will begin in the morning at Puri Saren Kangin (the Ubud Palace) and will be continue until the afternoon at the cemetery of Pura Dalem Puri in Peliatan. Starting at 08.00 am the Ubud main road will be closed for all vehicles.
On this day, there are also other cremation ceremonies called Ngaben massal. More than 30 families will cremate their deceased family's member at the same time, same day, same cemetery. These ceremonies will be held at the cemetery of Pura Dalem Puri and Pura Dalem Gede of Peliatan. Don't miss it.
October 5th; Kajeng Kliwon Uwudan
People throughout the island present offerings and pray for blessing from Ida Sang Hyang Widhi (Balinese word for God). Ceremonies are at the main temples (Pura Desa, Pura Puseh and Pura Dalem) and family temple.
October 11th; Tilem sasih Kapat (dark moon)
Ceremonies are at the main temples (Pura Desa, Pura Puseh and Pura Dalem) and family temple.
October 20th; Tumpek Wayang
1. Ceremonies at the family temple.
2. Temple festival at Pura Ratu Alit and Ratu Lingsir at Singakerta village. Ceremony will be held for three days.
October 20th; Kajeng Kliwon Enyitan
Ceremonies are at the main temples (Pura Desa, Pura Puseh and Pura Dalem) and family temple.
October 24th; Budha Cemeng Klawu
Temple festival at Pura Jati and Pura Melanting at Ubud village. Ceremony will be held for one day.
October 25th; Purnama sasih Kalima (full moon)
Ceremonies are at the main temples (Pura Desa, Pura Puseh and Pura Dalem) and family temple.
October 26th; Bhatara Sri Holiday
Temple festival at Pura Taman Sari at Ubud village. Ceremony will be held for three days.
October 30th; Anggara Kasih Dukut
Temple festival at :
1.
Pura Puseh at Singakerta village, Ubud. Ceremony will be held for three days.
2. Pura Pasek Getas Kawan at Kedewatan village, Ubud. Ceremony will be held for one day.
3. Pura Penataran at Ubud village. Ceremony will be held for one days.

• Batubulan. A national performance dance Barong takes place there
every day at 9:30 a. m. It lasts 1 hour, entrance fee - 50 000 IDR.
This is a performance for tourists about everlasting battle between
the good and the evil, where there is not much dancing, but more
"talking". While buying a ticket you'll also get a description
(aka libretto) of what will be performed.
* Free transport from Ubud Tourist Information, ask them for detail.
Entrance fee are between Rp.50.000- Rp.100.000. Ticket for these performances can be obtained at Ubud Tourist Information, Jl. Raya Ubud, phone +62-361-973285, from ticket sellers on the street or the place of the performance. The price is the same where-ever you buy it.
